From Sexpot to Misfit!!

Those of you who have been with me for a while know that I never stay in one place for long. This is my third web home since I began blogging in 2006, and I'm happy to report, I will soon be moving to my fourth!

What usually comes along with my various moves is a name change and this time is no different.

Maybe at heart I will always be a flirty sexpot, but as someone who hasn't even HAD SEX in 6 months now, I can't say this is my primary identity the way it once was.

More than anything these days, with my lifestyle choices being what they are (vegetarian, childfree, feminist), and my outlook on a lot of issues, I often feel like something of a misfit. The piece that doesn't conform or fit the puzzle. I have to face facts, I am the Black girl who has embraced all these "titles" that, while they have empowered me and changed my life for the better, are seen as rare and strange among the larger world.

I can deal with it, it's just time to shed this skin and slip into a new one, as I often do.

The new blog is located at www.mahoganymisfit.com and I will be updating links (and cleaning up any broken links to my old Squarespace URL), cleaning up/removing older posts that I've outgrown, and posting more frequently. Bear with me in the meantime...
